Systemic Therapy & Job Coaching for People with ADHD, AuDHD & Neurodivergence
Individual. Trauma-informed. Mindful. Systemic.
Life can feel like a rollercoaster sometimes – and that’s okay.
Sensory overload, emotional highs and lows, or the feeling of losing track can turn everyday life into a bit of an uphill climb.
Systemic therapy offers you a safe space to explore what actually works for you – in a way that’s mindful, tailored and grounded.
A Holistic Approach That Connects the Dots
I combine systemic therapy with mindfulness and trauma-informed methods to help you gain clarity, inner stability and strategies that truly fit your life.
The Polyvagal Theory guides us in understanding how your nervous system, emotions and behaviours are all beautifully intertwined.
Mindfulness: Tools to help clear your head and come back to yourself.
Trauma-informed practices: Support your nervous system and foster a sense of inner safety.
Systemic thinking: Understand your challenges in the context of your relationships, history and environment.
Step by Step – In Your Own Time
This is not about fixing or perfecting yourself. It’s about finding ways that feel right for you, with clarity, stability, and approaches that actually work in your real, everyday life.

You’ve achieved a lot – and yet your professional path may no longer feel quite right.
In career coaching, we take a deeper look:What do you really want?
What roles still suit you – and which ones no longer do?
What values, talents, and visions are asking for more space in your life?
Especially if you're neurodivergent – for example, if you live with ADHD, AuDHD, are highly sensitive, or have a particularly fine radar for complexity – it can be helpful to view your career non-linearly and through multiple lenses.
We explore not only external options but also internal dynamics: drivers, doubts, entanglements. I guide you with a systemic perspective through phases of questioning, reorientation or growth.
Whether you're planning your next career step, torn between academia and industry, or dreaming of self-employment – we work toward clarity so you can make aligned, confident decisions.
Self-care, stress regulation and head-body integration are just as much part of this work as practical tools – for presentations, negotiations or managing your energy in leadership roles.
Possible topics for job coaching include:
Strengthening self-worth, Self-care & work-life balance, Time & energy management, Strengthening problem-solving skills, Improving communication, Conflict management, Improving (self-)organisation, Skills development, Adjusting or redefining work conditions, Career reorientation, Application process support, Stress management, Burnout prevention -

Who is Systemic Therapy and Job Coaching For – and Who is it Not For?
Systemic therapy and job coaching with me are suitable if you're eager to explore personal or professional topics together. Whether you're aiming to boost your self-esteem, embark on self-employment, or seek input for your (self-)organisation, the focus is always on your personal development.
Additionally, my services are tailored for adults with ADHD, AuDHD, neurodiversity, or high sensitivity, who bring unique challenges and strengths. An official diagnosis isn't necessary—self-diagnoses are valid.
People of all gender identities, sexual orientations, and social backgrounds are explicitly welcome, including those from LGBTQIA+, FLINTA, TIN communities, or working-class backgrounds. Creating a discrimination-free, safe space is a priority for me.
However, my services are not suitable if you're experiencing an acute mental health crisis and primarily require intensive psychotherapeutic or medical support and stabilisation. Similarly, if you're dealing with severe medical symptoms without access to healthcare, we won't be able to work together.
How Long is the Waiting Time for Systemic Therapy and/or Job Coaching?
Self-paying clients: a few days to 3 weeks.
Job Coaching & 16k with AVGS voucher: 2 weeks to 3 months.
This depends on availability.
We can arrange an initial orientation session promptly to get to know each other and discuss your AVGS voucher. The next available slots are expected in June/July 2025 (subject to change).
Is There an Option for a Free Introductory Session?
Yes, I offer a 20-minute free telephone orientation session. During this call, you can share your topics, ask questions, and I'll explain my approach. If you'd like to prepare, I've listed some questions below. Afterwards, take your time to reflect—and if it feels right for both of us, we can begin. To schedule, simply use the button and form on my website. I'll send you a midday appointment proposal and invite you via Google Calendar, then call you at the agreed time.
AVGS Voucher: Please discuss the possibility of obtaining an AVGS voucher with your caseworker beforehand. Ideally, you should already have the voucher when we speak.
How Can I Reach You?
Initially, through the contact form where you can provide some basic information. A brief description of your concern is sufficient.
If we're already working together: via email or WhatsApp—please only for scheduling or urgent matters. We'll address everything else in our next session.
What Should I Do in an Emergency?
In an emergency—especially if you're feeling mentally unwell—please contact your GP, psychotherapist, psychiatrist, the social psychiatric service (8 am–4 pm), the Berlin Crisis Service (4 pm–12 am), or other emergency services. My services do not replace medical care or psychotherapy.
Can I Undergo Systemic Therapy Alongside My NHS Therapy?
Absolutely. If the approaches complement each other, it can be very beneficial. It's important that you're under medical care for any mental health conditions (GP, psychiatrist).
Can I Access Your Services If I'm Not in Berlin?
Of course! We can conduct sessions online via Zoom, whether you're in Hamburg, Cologne, another German city, or another country. This applies to both self-paying clients and those with an AVGS voucher.
Are the Methods You Use Scientifically Proven?
Yes, the methods I employ—from mindfulness and self-regulation exercises to trauma-sensitive approaches and systemic interventions—are grounded in solid scientific research. Numerous studies (e.g., by Kabat-Zinn, van der Kolk, and others) confirm that these methods reduce stress, promote emotional balance, and activate individual resources—even for neurodivergent individuals. This allows for a flexible, needs-based approach that aligns with the latest empirical findings. More information can be found under Resources.

How Can I Prepare for the Orientation Session?
It may be helpful to consider the following questions:
What’s currently on my mind – in thoughts, emotions or daily life
What themes or challenges do I want to explore or shift
What do I hope to get out of this process – and what don’t I want from it?
What have I already tried – and what did or didn’t work for me?
How would I know that coaching or therapy is actually helping me?
What Happens After the Orientation Session If I Want to Work with You?
Self-paying clients: If you decide to proceed with systemic therapy, send me a brief email, and I'll provide you with a therapy agreement (PDF). This document includes all essential information, such as cancellation policies, fees, and my bank details. Please sign and return the agreement via email before our first session. This establishes a clear foundation for our collaboration, allowing us to start promptly.
With AVGS voucher: Simply email me if you'd like to work together. Once you have the AVGS voucher from the Job Centre or Employment Agency, I'll inform the relevant job coaching agency—they'll handle all organisational and bureaucratic matters. As soon as approval is granted and a spot becomes available, we'll notify you, and we can embark on your coaching journey together.
How Can I Prepare if I want Job-Coaching via AVGS-voucher?
Discuss the possibility of obtaining an AVGS voucher with your caseworker.
Ideally, have the AVGS voucher ready before our conversation.
I can reserve a spot for you only after the voucher has been issued.
Can I Change My Therapy/Coaching Topic During the Process?
Absolutely! We'll gather and prioritise your topics at the beginning. If things shift over time or new topics emerge, we'll adapt accordingly. We remain flexible and responsive, without unnecessary pressure.

What is systemic therapy or systemic job coaching?
Systemic coaching means: You are not the problem – and you’re not alone.
Together, we look at the patterns, dynamics and relationships that shape your current challenges. Whether it’s about your job or personal life – nothing happens in a vacuum.I work at eye level. You're the expert on your own life – I bring impulses, perspectives and methods to support you on your way.
Rather than getting stuck in old stories, we explore how you might relate differently to your situation. No endless overthinking – but aha-moments that create real possibilities. My approach is mindful, trauma-informed, and neurodivergence-friendly. It’s not about squeezing yourself into a system – but about discovering ways that feel aligned with you.
The tools I use include:
Systemic questions & perspective shifts – new angles create new options
Embodiment & self-regulation – connecting mind and body to support stability
Beliefs & mantras – transforming limiting beliefs into empowering messages
Parts work – exploring and integrating inner voices and needs
Externalisation – seeing problems as separate from who you are
Genogram & sociogram – mapping patterns in family and social systems
System board work – using visual constellations to explore dynamics
In short: we create clarity, open up new ways of navigating life, and strengthen your self-trust – so you can walk your path with more ease and awareness.
Can you give official diagnoses?
No – only medical specialists or licensed psychological psychotherapists can issue formal diagnoses.
If you’d like, we can look at diagnostic criteria together or go through self-assessment tools – but an official diagnosis would need to come via medical channels. Can you treat any issue as a Heilpraktiker*in for psychotherapy?
No. My focus is on ADHD, AuDHD and neurodiversity – the wonderfully unique brains and life experiences that often come with everyday challenges.
Yes, I’m familiar with common co-occurring experiences like anxiety, depression or burnout (because they often tag along).
But I don’t offer treatment for these in a medical or clinical sense. For issues like addiction, eating disorders, OCD, personality disorders or suicidal thoughts, a specialised psychotherapeutic or medical setting is crucial. I can be a supportive companion in these areas – but if deeper care is needed, I’ll always encourage you to reach out to the right professionals.
As a Heilpraktikerin für Psychotherapie* (non-medical therapist under German law), I work with dialogue, systemic, mindful and somatic methods.
But I don’t issue diagnoses or prescribe medication. If your needs go beyond my scope, I’ll gladly help you find the right kind of support.👉 You can find more information on the legal boundaries of this role via the German Association of Independent Psychotherapists (VFP).
Can systemic therapy or job coaching replace psychotherapy or medical care?
No.
Even though I work as a systemic therapist and licensed Heilpraktikerin für Psychotherapie*, I cannot offer medical or psychotherapeutic care in acute crises or for conditions requiring clinical treatment.
Stabilisation and crisis intervention are not part of my service. What if I realise I might need therapy or medication after all?
That’s completely valid – it happens.
I can help you take first steps and suggest where to start. Sadly, finding a therapy spot can take time, so we’ll think together about who could support you through the process. In Germany, you can call the 116117 patient service to get help finding a therapist.
If you need medication, your GP can give you a referral code with urgency to help you access a psychiatrist appointment faster. -
Understanding ADHD, AuDHD and how your brain really works
How do you define ADHD, AuDHD and neurodiversity?
Neurodiversity describes the natural variation in how brains process information, make decisions and engage with the world.
There’s no such thing as a “normal” brain – just different neurological structures with unique strengths and challenges. How does ADHD develop?
ADHD and AuDHD are neurobiological variations shaped by both genetics and environment.
Research shows ADHD is highly heritable – genes affect dopamine and noradrenaline regulation, which in turn influences attention, motivation and impulse control. But genes alone don’t tell the full story. Environmental factors also play a role: early life experiences, stress during pregnancy, nutrition, sleep, and social dynamics all impact how ADHD traits show up.
Trauma can be part of the picture or intensify symptoms.
Ongoing stress or difficult childhood experiences can lead to ADHD-like patterns or make them more intense.
This isn’t about blaming trauma as the sole cause – it’s about recognising how nervous system differences and lived experience interact.ADHD & AuDHD as expressions of neurobiological diversity
People with ADHD or AuDHD often have brains that absorb more stimuli, process dopamine differently and show stronger connections in certain brain regions.
That can make focusing, filtering input or managing impulses more complex – but it also comes with unique gifts: fast pattern recognition, creativity, sensitivity to dynamics, and unconventional problem-solving.I don’t approach these traits as deficits.
We work resource-based – you don’t need to fit a system that wasn’t made for you.
Instead, we find systems and strategies that fit you.My approach?
Trauma-informed, strengths-focused, and grounded in science.
I use a mix of:Embodiment
Systemic tools
Parts work
Creative strategies for self-regulation and self-organisation
Self-worth building exercises
No generic protocols – everything is tailored to your brain, your body, your story.
You’re not broken – maybe just in the wrong environment.
Let’s explore how to build spaces and structures that actually work for you.Is “ADHD” even the right word?
To be honest? The term Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder is pretty misleading.
There’s no lack of attention – just a different way of regulating it.
People with ADHD can hyperfocus deeply – but usually only when they’re intrinsically interested or fully switched on.And “hyperactivity” isn’t always visible.
For many, it shows up as inner restlessness or a mental hamster wheel.
Executive functions like impulse control, working memory, prioritisation and self-organisation vary hugely depending on context.
That’s why people are often seen as “lazy” or “undisciplined” – when in fact, they’re navigating real neurological challenges. And then there’s that word: “disorder”.
It pathologises something that many understand as a form of neurobiological diversity. Some researchers and lived-experience experts suggest alternatives like:
Variable Attention Regulation (VAR)
Dopamine Regulation Spectrum (DRS)
Neurodivergent Activation Regulation (NAR)
Nothing official yet – but the movement is growing.
Bottom line?
ADHD isn’t a flaw – it’s a different way of experiencing and navigating the world. With its own strengths, struggles, and brilliant potential.Do I need a formal diagnosis to work with you?
No.
Self-diagnosis is valid.
You’re the expert on your own life – we work with whatever’s real and present for you.I suspect I have ADHD or AuDHD – or I know I’m highly sensitive. Can coaching help?
Absolutely.
Many of my clients only discover their neurodivergent or highly sensitive traits in adulthood.Systemic therapy or job coaching offers a protected space to explore what makes you you – to recognise your strengths and find practical tools that help in daily life.
This might include: sensory management, time structuring, setting priorities – or simply learning how to be kinder to yourself. No diagnosis required.
How do you integrate these topics into your work?
I work systemically and resource-focused.
That means we explore how your neurodivergent and/or sensitive traits can be strengths – not just “issues to manage”.We also focus on down-to-earth, everyday solutions that actually work for your life:
How to set boundaries when the world feels too loud
What tools help you stay organised (or regroup when things unravel)
How to honour your energy without apologising for it
It’s not about fixing you.
It’s about getting to know your system – and learning how to work with it, not against it. -
a space where all of you is welcome
Do you offer a safer space for people from the LGBTQIA+, FLINTA or TIN community – or for working-class backgrounds?
I’ll do my best.
I identify as non-binary and come from a working-class background, which gives me personal insight into different forms of discrimination and structural barriers.Creating a space where you feel safe, respected and seen – regardless of identity, sexual orientation, gender, background or class – really matters to me.
What does “diversity sensitivity” mean in your coaching?
For me, it means actively engaging with themes like discrimination, privilege and power structures – and keeping them in mind as part of our shared work.
I bring my own lived experience, listen with care, and adapt my methods to your needs. The goal: a space where you can speak freely, without fear of being misunderstood or judged.
Do you have experience with discrimination-related topics or coming-out processes?
I’ve supported trans and non-binary people in systemic therapy and job coaching, especially around workplace microaggressions, team acceptance, and navigating identity-related stress.
I haven’t directly accompanied someone through a coming-out yet – but I’m open and ready to explore how I can support you, if that becomes relevant.
Discrimination – whether at work or in private life – often leaves deep marks.
We can explore how those experiences have impacted your wellbeing, and work together to rebuild your sense of strength, clarity and self-trust.How do you respond when someone shares experiences of discrimination?
I take discrimination seriously.
You’ll have a safe space to name, reflect and process your experiences – at your own pace.Together, we can explore what those moments have done to you and how to transform them into something constructive. This might also include developing strategies for setting boundaries and protecting yourself in the future.
What does it mean that you’re from a working-class background (“Arbeiterkind”)?
It means I grew up in a household without academic or professional degrees.
I know the challenges of being the first in your family to go to university, apply for certain jobs, or even imagine a different kind of life.If that’s part of your story too, systemic therapy can help release inner blockages and self-doubt – and support you in owning your path with more confidence.
How do ADHD, AuDHD and neurodivergence fit into this picture?
Many people who identify as trans, non-binary or queer are also neurodivergent – living with ADHD, AuDHD or other forms of brain diversity.
These intersections often bring specific challenges, but also unique strengths.
We’ll work together to integrate all of who you are – in your work, relationships and identity.
It’s not about splitting parts off – it’s about bringing your whole self into focus. What if I want to come out during our work – or I’m still unsure about my identity?
That’s totally okay.
This is a space where you can explore things at your own pace. You’re welcome to share openly, or just dip a toe in and see what feels right.
Nothing is forced here. You decide what to share and when. How can I know if I’ll feel safe with you – with my identity, my history, my whole self?
I can’t promise a perfect fit – every coaching or therapy relationship is personal and unique.
But my foundation is this: openness, respect and genuine curiosity for your world.
I have experience holding sensitive conversations and will do my best to meet you where you are.And if something feels off?
Please tell me. We’ll adjust – or, if it feels better to pause or move on, that’s okay too. -
aka: All the little details that make a big difference
Where do sessions take place?
In person or online – whatever works best for you.
In person:
Heidelberger Straße 16
12059 Berlin – Neukölln / Alt-Treptow
(c/o Lokalwerk)Online:
All you need is a quiet, undisturbed space where you feel comfortable. On the tech side:
A stable internet connection and – ideally – headphones for clear audio and video. You’ll receive a Zoom link from me in advance – just one click, and it opens directly in your browser. No login needed.
Is your dog always there?
Yes – most of the time.
Gruff, my medium-sized Jack Russell–Fox Terrier mix, is usually with me. He’s very friendly and tends to curl up and nap after greeting you. However, I can’t guarantee an allergy-free environment.
Is your practice space accessible?
The space is on the ground floor and step-free to enter.
Unfortunately, the toilet is not fully accessible or adapted for wheelchair use.Do I need to wear a mask?
As long as we’re both healthy, no mask is required.
Being able to see facial expressions and body language can really help build trust.
That said, if you feel more comfortable wearing a mask – that’s totally fine, too.Can we do a “Walk & Talk” session?
Absolutely!
We can take a walk in Treptower Park, for example. We’ll plan it in advance when setting the appointment – as we’ll need to allow a bit more time.
It can also happen spontaneously if we’re staying close to the practice. Can I bring someone with me (e.g. a partner)?
Not for regular one-to-one sessions.
If you'd like to book a joint session with another person, please get in touch first – different arrangements apply.Generally, therapy should be your personal space – though of course we’ll take a systemic look at your relationships and environment.
What if I feel uncomfortable in a session – or realise it’s not the right fit?
Please tell me.
We’ll talk it through and see what can be clarified or adjusted.
Being open about discomfort is part of the process. And if it turns out that we’re not a good match – that’s okay, too.
You’ll only pay for the sessions you’ve attended so far.Do you offer group coaching or workshops?
Yes – a trauma-informed workshop is currently in the works for people with ADHD, AuDHD and other forms of neurodivergence.
It will include:
body awareness
breathwork
gentle practices (e.g. Yin Yoga)
and shared reflection in a supportive group

In rare cases, I may discuss aspects of my work in intervision or supervision, but always in an anonymous and respectful way – without names or identifying details.
What happens to my data if the coaching is funded by the Job Centre or Employment Agency?
For AVGS-funded coaching, I’m required to provide brief documentation of the process to the Job Centre or Employment Agency.
What gets shared:
an attendance list
a final summary report (Abschlussbericht)
We’ll go through everything together beforehand, and you’ll sign off on it.
Anything you’d prefer not to include – stays out. Full stop. -
aka: progress, perspective & a good goodbye
What are the chances of success – and how can I measure it?
I don’t believe in quick fixes – especially when it comes to things like self-worth, boundaries or stress regulation.
These topics often need many small steps, which can lead to big, lasting change over time. We’ll notice your progress consciously, reflect on it – and yes, we’ll celebrate the wins too.
Therapy and job coaching are teamwork.
Your success depends on how much you can open up to the process – and I’ll be here to support you throughout.
If you show up with curiosity and a bit of trust, we can create something meaningful together. 💪✨When – and how – does the process end?
Job Coaching (with AVGS voucher):
Your coaching ends when the time period covered by the voucher runs out.
We’ll go over your final summary report (which you’ll sign along with the attendance sheet) and take a moment to look back at everything you’ve achieved.Self-funded therapy:
Therapy ends when you feel you’ve reached your goals – or when we both sense the process has come full circle.
We’ll meet for a closing session to reflect on your journey and the progress you’ve made.
This is me. Nadja Gebhardt
she/her, they/them
Systemic Coach + Therapist (DGSF)
Job Coach + ADHD Coach
Non-medical practitioner for psychotherapy (Heilpraktikerin Psychotherapie)
Yin Yoga + Fascia Teacher
M.A. in Art History & Nordic Philology
As a systemic therapist, job coach and licensed non-medical practitioner for psychotherapy (Heilpraktikerin für Psychotherapie), who is herself neurodivergent and highly sensitive, I understand what it’s like when everyday life doesn’t go “according to plan”.
And how important it is to find strategies that actually fit who you are.
What does that mean?
I know that it’s often the little things that make the difference:
Creating structure – without feeling boxed in.
Finding the courage to say no.
Exploring paths that are truly your own.
My approach combines mind and body.
Mindfulness, meditation and trauma-sensitive bodywork help create inner calm and support real, lasting change.
It’s not about being perfect – it’s about living in a way that feels honest and sustainable.
When I’m not working, you’ll find me outside:
In wellies in the garden or hiking through the forest with my dog Gruff. Yoga and noticing the small details of life are how I recharge. On the sofa, I expand my universe and explore sci-fi worlds.
